Daughter Asks for Help Finding CA Firefighter's Dad's Helmet

The Salinas firefighter's captain helmet, which is over 21 years old and holds deep sentimental value to both father and daughter, was lost during a flurry of July 4 calls.

The daughter of a California firefighter is trying to help her dad find his helmet after it went missing earlier this week.

Alisa Flores took to Twitter on Monday to ask for help finding her father's captain helmet, which has "Flores" on it and a baby photo of his daughter is on the inside. The helmet was lost during a flurry of July 4 calls, and Salinas saw an increase because of fireworks, The Salinas Californian reports.

"This helmet is over 21 years old and holds sentimental value to the both of us," Flores wrote. "I know it may seem like just another part of his uniform but it is much more than that."

According to KION-TV, Flores' dad thinks he lost the helmet near Salinas Fire Station No. 4, where he works. If the helmet is found, it can be returned to that station at 308 Williams Road, Salinas, CA.

"It would mean the world to my dad and I (if the helmet was found)," Flores stated.
