Veteran-Owned Small Business Certification Received by Phenix Technology
The U.S. Small Business Administration's VetCert Program has certified Phenix Technology as a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB).
Even though Phenix has been a veteran-owned small business since its founding in 1972, this certification officially acknowledges the company as such and creates new prospects for it in the federal and military contract market.
“Phenix has always been veteran-owned, but this new certification makes that fact more widely known and opens up opportunities for us to pursue new relationships and expand our brand,” said CEO Angel Sanchez.
The Phenix family still has a strong commitment to veteran service. Phenix Technology's founder and owner, Ray Russell, was a member of the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. His son, Shaun Russell, was a member of the 10th Mountain Division. During his deployment in Kosovo, Shaun deployed to conflict zones and received multiple medals for bravery and valor.
Ray and Shaun's military service, along with that of many other Phenix family members, reflects the family's long-standing commitment to defending others, which continues to influence Phenix's dedication to producing firefighter helmets and other essential PPE.
