Dräger announced that it will showcase a new line of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) at FDIC 2017

Houston – Dräger announced that it will showcase a new line of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) at FDIC 2017, to be held April 27-29 in Indianapolis, booth #923. The company will also demo live burns on demand at its Mobile Live Fire Training Unit at booth #19309.

“We are very excited to present our new line of SCBAs,” said Lothar Thielen, President and Regional CEO North America, Dräger. “Because of advanced technologies and legendary Dräger quality, these systems offer firefighters and first responders unprecedented levels of safety and efficiency. Our new SCBA design also provides unmatched comfort and freedom of movement.”

Dräger is offering three SCBA packages to address the different needs and budgets of fire departments:

–         Premier: for those who want top-of-the-line technology

–         Advanced: for those looking for the best price/performance

–         Standard: for budget-conscious departments

Or, Dräger can build a custom configuration based on the department’s unique requirements. All components are manufactured by Dräger, are designed to work together seamlessly, and are covered by a standard 15-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. Dräger’s SCBAs do not require any overhaul – regardless of the age, amount of use, or length of time in service. This supports Dräger’s claim of lowest cost of ownership.

Confidence Maze Tests Agility

The Drager booth will feature its unique Confidence Maze Challenge. “In response to popular demand, we are bringing back our confidence maze,” said Thielen. “This structure gives firefighters the opportunity to experience the comfort and flexibility of our new SCBAs in a real-world situation as they test their agility by crawling through tight places.”

Firefighters who complete the maze can have their photo taken and posted to social media, and receive a free T-shirt (while supplies last) or a 2017 Dräger Limited Edition Challenge coin.

Live burns on demand: real fire, real smoke

Outside at FDIC, Dräger will demonstrate its propane-fueled Mobile Live Fire Training Unit. “Because of today’s stricter fire codes, firefighters have fewer opportunities to gain the experience they need to fight fires,” explained Thielen. “This mobile fire training system enables fire departments to take training to firefighters in remote locations or wherever it’s needed.”

The company will also unveil the Dräger X-plore 8000 series of powered air-purifying respirators (PAPR), which filter hazardous substances from the ambient air. Depending on the type of filter used, this PAPR can protect against various gases, vapors and particles – making it ideal for handling a variety of hazmat materials. The Dräger X-plore 8000 won the prestigious IF Design Award 2016, a worldwide standard for excellence in industrial design.

Dräger will also present its line of NFPA-approved thermal imaging cameras and unrivaled gas detection systems, which include personal and area monitors.
