Monroe, NC (April 24, 2023) – 3M Scott Fire & Safety, part of 3M’s Personal Safety Division, will return to FDIC International from April 24-29, 2023, to support key training initiatives and events, including hands-on training (H.O.T.) evolutions, and showcase the latest in firefighter safety solutions.

Sponsored Events

3M Scott Fire & Safety teams up with fire service instructors and manufacturers to aid in firefighter development, while also supporting the mission of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

H.O.T. Evolutions: Again this year, 3M Scott Fire & Safety will be the official SCBA sponsor for FDIC H.O.T. evolutions, providing SCBA and other valuable resources. Firefighters from across the U.S. and other countries will participate in two days of extensive training evolutions, where they are exposed to the latest technology and techniques in the fire service, all while experiencing firsthand the 3M™ Scott™ Air-Pak™ X3 Pro SCBA.

The HEAT: This is a multi-vendor, multi-track exhibition that features the latest technology in PPE, SCBA, apparatus, and training props. 3M Scott Fire & Safety will provide Air-Pak X3 Pro SCBA for the instructors to use while demonstrating multiple exhibits.

Firefighter Challenge: The Firefighter Challenge returns to FDIC 2023 with a new look and feel, and a familiar face. 3M Scott Fire & Safety returns as the official SCBA partner and will provide Air-Pak X3 Pro SCBA for all competitors as they test their skills on an obstacle course.

9/11 Memorial Stair Climb: 3M Scott Fire & Safety will provide SCBA to those participating in the memorial event as a tribute to their fallen brothers and sisters. Proceeds from the event help support the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Stop, Drop, Rock ‘n’ Roll: Over the past 20 years, Stop, Drop, Rock ‘n’ Roll has played an important part in honoring America’s fallen firefighters. It is a chance for firefighters to give back to the fire service and have fun at the same time. 3M Personal Safety Division is donating 3M™ Scott™ thermal imagers and 3M™ PELTOR™ electronic earplugs for a silent auction. Proceeds from the event help support the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Product Exhibit

To complement the hands-on training and special events taking place throughout the week, 3M Scott Fire & Safety will showcase its latest fire service products, ranging from the Air-Pak X3 Pro SCBA to the 3M™ Scott™ Vision C5 Facepiece with Radio Direct Interface. And let’s not forget about the array of search and rescue solutions, including firefighter location, thermal imaging, and rapid intervention.

Expanding on the traditional fire service offering, attendees can also experience other 3M products including 3M™ PELTOR™ Protective Communications and 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material. The PELTOR protective communication solutions can help protect a firefighter’s hearing while also enabling clear communication in dynamic noise environments. 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material provides enhanced visibility for firefighters and other emergency responders operating on the fireground.

"We are excited to be part of FDIC International 2023, and to have the opportunity to showcase our cutting-edge products and technologies to the fire and emergency services industry," said Andrew Johnson, U.S. and Canada fire segment leader. "Our investment in this event demonstrates our commitment to providing firefighters with the best possible equipment to help protect them and the communities they serve."

A notable addition to the 3M Scott booth this year will be the collaboration with industry-leading incident management providers to leverage critical SCBA telemetry data via an application programming interface to enhance on-scene incident management.  Demonstrations will be offered with 3AM Innovations, Adashi Systems, a Versaterm Public Safety Company, and Systems Definition, Inc. (SDI).

“We’re excited to introduce this dynamic collaboration at FDIC,” said Longin Kloc, global product marketer, firefighter solutions. “I believe the integration of the SCBA telemetry into these leading incident management solutions represents a significant improvement in fireground operations and will lead to improved firefighter safety.”
