VA Fire Truck Crash Leaves Eight Injured, One Seriously

The Fairfax County engine was responding to a cardiac arrest when the collision occurred.

A crash involving a Fairfax County fire truck left eight people injured Thursday evening.

"Fairfax County Fire & Rescue units were responding to a CPR call when they were involved with a crash with two other vehicles," Ashley Hildebrandt with Fairfax County Fire & Rescue told reporters at the scene.

The fire engine left the roadway and ended up just a few feet away from hitting the Beacon of Groveton apartment building, according to WJLA. 

One civilian was reported to have suffered serious injuries. 

Fairfax County Police are continuing the investigation.
