Iva, SC, Fire Chief Struck by Vehicle While Working

It has not been released if Curt Brickle was at his job or on an incident as the fire chief.

Iva Fire Chief Curt Brickle was hit by a vehicle while on the job Monday morning.

Curt's wife, Jennifer Brickle, said that Curt was airlifted to the hospital, where he is in stable condition, WYFF reported.

While the department posted updates to its Facebook page, it's not clear whether Brickle was working as the fire chief or his personal job when the incident occurred.

The chief suffered extensive internal injuries including fractured ribs.
