Cy-Fair firefighters took shelter inside a home they were called to as a tornado passed by their location.

Firefighters from Cy-Fair Fire Department Engine 11 were called to investigate a lightning strike when weather conditions changed, Lt. Eddie Cruz told Firehouse.com.

The crew joined the residents and sheltered in the garage as the winds from the tornado picked up and blew debris around.

"We’re grateful for the community’s support. Everyone is safe and back in service," Cruz said.
