FDNY Pumper, Transit Bus Crash Sends 19 People to the Hospital

Five firefighters were injured in the crash between an MTA transit bus and an FDNY pumper in the Bronx.

A crash between an MTA transit bus and an FDNY truck sent 19 people to the hospital, including multiple firefighters.

The crash happened on Tuesday, near Southern Boulevard and Baretto Street in Longwood in the Bronx just after 12:30 p.m., PIX11 reports.

Five firefighters and 14 people from the bus were transported to nearby hospitals for various injuries, while three were treated on scene but refused further treatment.

The bus sustained significant front-end damage on the passenger side, and its windshield had broken glass.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
