When fire departments across the country and around the world send their Sutphen apparatus to the front lines of the fireground, they do so with confidence, knowing their heavy-duty equipment is engineered to withstand the harshest conditions.
For more than 136 years, Sutphen Corporation has set the benchmark for quality in custom-built fire apparatus. Constructed with durable, heavy-duty materials designed for long-term performance, Sutphen trucks reflect the company's unwavering commitment to excellence and its longstanding legacy in the fire service industry.
Built from the ground up, every Sutphen apparatus is intentionally engineered for dependability and performance in demanding emergency response environments.
Sutphen Monarch Extreme Duty Chassis
The foundation of every Sutphen apparatus begins with the Monarch Extreme-Duty custom chassis. Featuring double frame rails and cross members, the chassis provides exceptional structural strength and durability. Sutphen's four-step paint process further enhances longevity by delivering superior corrosion protection throughout the life of the apparatus.
Inside the cab, operators benefit from a robust safety-focused design that incorporates heavy-wall 6061-T6 aluminum extrusions and heavy-duty aluminum plates, providing enhanced crash protection and occupant safety.
Sutphen Aerial Apparatus
All Sutphen aerial bodies are constructed from #304 stainless steel and Huck-bolted directly to the chassis frame, creating a durable and robust foundation.
Sutphen aerial devices are manufactured from high-grade, lightweight aluminum, helping reduce maintenance costs and overall vehicle weight. Despite their lighter construction, Sutphen aerials maintain a 3:1 safety factor, delivering the strength and reliability firefighters depend on.
Sutphen Pumpers
Sutphen pumpers are available with either 3/16-inch extruded aluminum bodies or #304 stainless steel bodies, providing departments with the flexibility to select the construction option that best aligns with their operational requirements.
Combined with industry-leading pump configurations, tank options, and customization capabilities, Sutphen pumpers provide departments with a reliable apparatus tailored to meet the unique demands of their communities.
