The all new Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarm is the first residential alarm to offer a custom, Split-Spectrum Sensor that uses two wavelengths of light to detect fast and slow flaming fires.
Nest Protect alarms can now be silenced from your phone, using our redesigned Nest app 5.0, and is the only smoke and CO alarm that automatically checks its speaker and buzzer even when you’re not home.
Other new features include:
· New design – Nest Protect is completely redesigned with new grille to give it a flush look against the wall, made with new materials, 11 percent smaller, and a redesigned light ring for a brighter Pathlight. Also includes a new redesigned smoke chamber and improved sensors to help customers know more and worry less.
· Split-Spectrum Senor – Nest Protect uses two wavelengths of light to look for both fast- and slow-burning fires.
· App Silence – Now you can hush false alarms from your phone or tablet, with the new Nest app.
· 10-year product lifetime – Nest Protect’s updated sensors provide customers with a longer product lifetime before needing to replace.
· Sound Check – Nest Protect automatically checks its speakers and microphone once per month.
· Safety Checkup – From the Nest app you can now test all your alarms at once.
