The cost of the Kingston's new Central firehouse has risen to $10,431,000. The city’s engineer said all bids for the project came in over estimate and among changes to the original plans are a rooftop solar array.
Kingston officials removed a rooftop solar array from plans for a new fire station to save $124,000. They will look for increased federal incentives down the road.
