AL Fire Station Flooded by Heavy Rain

Heavy rain overnight caused flash flooding in parts of Monroeville, including Fire Station 1 where several inches of water entered the station.

Firefighters with Monroeville Fire and Rescue gave a video tour of their fire station after heavy rains flooded parts of the city overnight.

Firefighters posted the video on their Facebook page of standing water throughout Monroeville Fire Station 1 after upwards of eight inches of rain fell in the area and caused flash flooding. 

A man was on his way to work when he was forced to jump out of his car as it was swept away in floodwater near Limestone Creek, according to WKRG News 5

The man was able to get out of his car and find higher ground according to reporters from who witnessed the event.
