Station Design Awards 2026
Fort Atkinson, WI, November 10, 2026—Firehouse Magazine announced the winners of its 13th annual Station Design Awards program, which recognizes outstanding architecture and design of fire departments and emergency facilities nationwide.
Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were issued across nine categories of facilities in this prestigious competition: Career 1, Career 2, Co-Located, Combination, Fire Headquarters, Renovations, Satellite, Training Facilities and Volunteer. All 89 participating entries will be published in the November issue of Firehouse Magazine and online at Firehouse.com/stations.
Firehouse Editor-in-Chief Peter Matthews said, “In the 13 years since Firehouse has held the Station Design Awards, the efforts to improve living and working areas for firefighters have improved exponentially. Through the Station Design Conference and publication of the Station Design Awards, fire departments are better educated and prepared for their planning process with architects and builders to understand current conditions and prepare for future factors that are critical in the day-to-day operations of every community’s first line of defense while taking care of the people who work there.”
According to Rich Dzierwa, Firehouse Magazine Managing Editor, who supervised the Station Design Awards project, “The 2026 edition of the Station Design Awards continues our commitment to aiding in departments’ dedication to the health, wellness and safety of their members through more particular requirements of submitters and more diligent assessment by which facilities are evaluated. We’re confident that our identification of the Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners and the details that are presented about all of the facilities that we reviewed, which will be shared in our special Station Design Awards section of the November 2026 issue of Firehouse, put fire departments and architects in the best position to create operational and living environments in which firefighters, officers and chiefs can perform at optimal levels and thrive.”
