Tornado Damages OH Fire, Police Stations

July 7, 2022
One firefighter suffered injuries while using a chainsaw and Goshen officials said over 150 structures were damaged by the tornado.

A State of Emergency was declared in Goshen Township after a tornado devastated the community.

The fire station and police station were among the many buildings that were damaged.

"One was a firefighter injured by a chainsaw, transported to a hospital likely for stitches," Goshen Township Administrator Steve Pegram told WCPO.com. "One was a citizen, injured by falling debris — conscious, alert.”

Pegram said close to 200 structures were damaged and crews will spent Thursday assessing the full scope of damage.

Video from the scene showed part of the fire station's roof had collapsed and, Pegram said, firefighters were able to get all of the equipment out of the building to help with recovery efforts.
