TargetSolutions, Vector Check It and Vector Scheduling will all receive artificial intellingence (AI) improvements, according to Vector Solutions' announcement. Voice-driven documentation, automated scheduling logic, and AI-assisted inspections are among the new features that will assist fire departments in managing staffing regulations, capturing training records, and conducting field equipment and apparatus checks.

In addition to keeping thorough training, inspection, and compliance records, United States fire departments respond to a fire somewhere in the nation every 24 seconds. Many departments still rely on manual processes for everything from recording live training activities to documenting apparatus checks and managing callback rules. This results in a substantial administrative burden for staff members working in fast-paced workplaces.

The planned AI improvements from Vector Solutions are intended to lessen this load by streamlining documentation and automating intricate processes throughout the platforms that departments depend on on a daily basis.

“Fire departments operate in fast-moving environments where every second matters,” said Josh Grossman, General Manager of Public Sector at Vector Solutions. “Our goal with these AI capabilities is to make documentation faster and more intuitive, allowing departments to capture accurate information in real time without adding administrative burden to their teams.”

The three main Vector Solutions platforms are the focus of the new improvements, which provide intelligent automation to standard fire department procedures.

VoiceComplete in TargetSolutions - AI-Enabled Training Record Completions

Firefighters and training officers can now swiftly record live training activities thanks to new voice-to-text transcription capabilities. Training can be recorded by staff members using voice input, which the system immediately transforms into organized records. In addition to increasing accuracy and cutting down on administrative time, the mobile-friendly workflow simplifies field documentation.

VoiceCheck in Vector Check It - AI-Driven Inspection Checklists

Voice-activated AI features in Vector Check It enables staff members to use normal speech to finish checklists and inspections. The system automatically finds pertinent checklist items and updates them when users describe problems or observations. This minimizes user input errors, improves documentation consistency, and lessens the need to manually engage with a mobile device during inspections.

CallbackAssist in Vector Scheduling - AI Callback Ranking Rules Engine

Departments may create and maintain intricate callback and overtime ranking rules without the need for bespoke coding thanks to a new AI-powered rules engine. The system automatically creates the required ranking rules when departments provide their scheduling logic. This keeps the process transparent and auditable while doing away with the need for spreadsheets and manual computations.

“Firefighters often perform inspections and equipment checks in environments where stopping to type into a mobile device isn’t practical or possible,” said Robbi King, a 27-year veteran firefighter, former Chief Officer, and now Director, Public Sector Solutions Engineer at Vector Solutions. “Voice-driven AI makes it easier to capture what’s happening in real-time, which improves accuracy while making the process much more efficient for personnel in the field.”

Attend Vector Solutions' next webinar, The Future of Fire Service Technology, to find out more about how AI is assisting fire departments with modernizing scheduling, inspections, and training. On April 9, AI Across the Vector Suite will be introduced, examining how agencies may get ready for the next wave of fire service technology. Additionally, the team will present these AI improvements at FDIC International (April 20–25) in Indianapolis, IN, at Booth #1917.
