Jeremy Renner Joins RapidSOS as Brand Partner and Investor
Actor and public safety advocate Jeremy Renner announced that he has joined with RapidSOS to help the company's work with emergency response systems and first responders.
Renner became deeply committed to the first responders who defend towns like his own after surviving a near-fatal snowcat accident in Washoe County, NV, on Jan. 1, 2023. He was drawn to RapidSOS in part because of his dedication to the organization's common goal of giving public safety heroes the vital information they require to save lives.
RapidSOS, the first AI designed specifically for emergency response, was created over ten years in collaboration with public safety. It supports the life-saving efforts of more than 23,500 public safety agencies in more than 500,000 crises every day. RapidSOS HARMONY AI integrates vital information from the largest safety network in the world—more than 723 million connected devices—directly into 911 and first responder systems during an emergency. Over 1.1 billion emergencies across 15 nations have been assisted by that platform as of 2025.
"Our first responders and healthcare workers put their lives on the line every day. Being able to help our helpers is personally important to me," said Jeremy Renner. "What they need is the right information, at the right moment. When they have it, they can come together and problem solve. That' s why I'm excited to partner with RapidSOS, to support the people on the front lines and the work they do every day."
Critical delays in emergency response are caused by the fragmentation of life-saving information across closed, disconnected systems, such as house alarms, crash detection, medical warning devices, hazardous sensors, cameras, and emergency buttons. When every second is a matter of life or death, security personnel and responders are compelled to act without fully understanding the situation.
Public safety created RapidSOS to address this. The largest Safety Network in the world is powered by RapidSOS technology, which is trusted by more than a million first responders. HARMONY AI then converts this real-time data into mission-critical intelligence during an emergency and distributes it to the most vulnerable individuals.
"First responders do extraordinary work every day," said Michael Martin, Founder and CEO of RapidSOS. "But for too long we've asked them to rush into millions of emergencies with almost no information. In partnership with public safety, we are building the first AI platform developed for mission critical response operations - providing an immediate full picture of any emergency."
It's appropriate that the news is made during National Telecommunicators Week. In the United States, 240 million calls are made to 9-1-1 every day. The telecom workers who answer those calls perform exceptional job, frequently without the resources or credit they are due. RapidSOS and Jeremy Renner have partnered to assist each other.
"Today AI is used for so many things, but at RapidSOS, we are clear on its highest and best purpose: for helping people at their most vulnerable moments, getting the right insights to the right first responder when a life is on the line," said Jose Mejia, President and COO at RapidSOS. "That's what we built in partnership with public safety at RapidSOS. That's what Jeremy Renner believes in. And that's why this partnership matters: this is AI for the ultimate good."
The collaboration begins on April 29 with the release of "Behind the Emergency", a brief documentary starring Jeremy Renner. The documentary chronicles Renner's exploration of contemporary emergency response and the technology that enables it. It starts with his own survival tale and delves into the life-saving work of medical experts and first responders, as well as how mission-critical gadgets help them.
Virtual tickets are available for the premiere, which will take place in Reno, NV. On April 29, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. PT/2:30 p.m. ET, register here for the Behind the Emergency Exclusive Virtual Premiere.
