Lightning Hits Antenna at Detroit Firehouse
DETROIT
--
A lightning strike is being blamed for knocking out a radio antenna at Detroit's Engine 41.
Sgt. Terrance Brewer said the strike happened last Friday while firefighters were out on a call. He said they returned to find the antenna in pieces on the ground. The damage blew out the building's two-way radio system and phone system.
"It makes it a little bit difficult, but we're serving. I mean we're used to doing what we have to to do, make sure we can get the job done," Brewer said.
