Stockton firefighters battled a multiple alarm fire Sunday afternoon in a 3-story apartment complex on Oak Street.
When firefighters arrived there was heavy smoke and fire conditions showing from the 3-story apartment with exposure concerns to an adjacent property.
Crews were hampered by poor visibility and altered floor plans as they stretched lines to control the blaze.
It took close to four hours to bring the fire under control. As a result of the fire, 41 residents were left without a place to live.
