The Newark, IL, FPD purchased a pumper built by Alexis Fire Equipment on a Spartan Metro Star cab and chassis.

The Newark, IL, Fire Protection District has purchased a custom pumper built by Alexis Fire Equipment on a Spartan Metro Star cab and chassis. It's powered by a Cummins ISL9 450-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. It has a Darley PSM 1,500-gpm pump, a ProPoly 1,000-gallon tank with a 20-gallon foam cell and R.O.M. roll-up doors and Whelen LED warning lights.
