SC Firefighter Charged with DUI after Pumper Rolls

Troopers charged the 36-year-old Starr firefighter with driving under the influence after the fire apparatus he was driving flipped over.

A Starr firefighter was charged after the pumper he was driving to a call Monday night rolled over.

John Russell Hendrix Jr., 36, was driving the rig to a fire alarm call when it left the road and flipped over about 7:30 p.m.

South Carolina State Troopers charged Hendrix with driving under the influence, according to WYFF4.com.

Hendrix and another firefighter on riding in the pumper were not injured in the crash.
