Gila Bend, AZ, Firefighter Crushed by Rig Doing Maintenance

    Law enforcement officials said the Gila Bend firefighter was working on the rig's engine when it came down on him.

    A firefighter from Gila Bend was seriously injured while conducting maintenance work on a fire apparatus Friday.

    The accident happened just after 5 p.m. at a fire station at Scott Avenue and Pima St, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez told Fox10Phoenix. 

    ABC15.com reported that the firefighter was performing maintenance in the rig's engine when it came down on him.

    The firefighter was in listed in critical condition, according to AZCentral.com.
