Cherokee, NC, Fire & Rescue has put in service a 107-foot Ascendent aerial built by Pierce.

Cherokee, NC, Fire & Rescue has put in service a 107-foot Ascendent aerial built by Pierce. It is based on a Pierce Enforcer cab and chassis powered by a Detroit Diesel 525-hp engine and an Allison transmission. To fight fire, it has a Hale 2,000-gpm pump and a 500-gallon water tank. Other features include a Harrison Hydra- Gen 10,000-watt generator, Hannay reels, Whelen warning lights, Firetech HiViz scene lights and a Federal Signal Q2B mechanical siren.
