Part of the new Extreme Duty Class of Polaris vehicles for use on rough terrain, the Polaris RANGER CREW XD 1500 made its FDIC International debut April 18-20 in Indianapolis. Engineered to be stronger and more durable than ever before, the newest utility vehicle in the RANGER line-up features longer service intervals, a high-strength heavy duty steel chassis and the industry-exclusive STEELDRIVE transmission – providing a vehicle that stands up to the grueling demands of fire and rescue personnel. The RANGER CREW XD 1500 on display will be equipped with emergency lighting. The eco-friendly, all-electric RANGER XP Kinetic equipped with a rescue skid and emergency light kit, and the RANGER CREW XP 1000 NorthStar equipped with emergency lighting and a fire and rescue skid were also on display in Polaris booth #3369.

Since their introduction in 1998, Polaris RANGERs have become integral for fire and rescue departments across the country due to their increased mobility and off-road capabilities. The UTVs can improve response time and extend reach to locations where cars, trucks and helicopters can’t operate. Through a dedicated team and understanding of each division it serves, Polaris ensures appropriate vehicle selection and customization, direct upfit, dedicated support and training for each customer. With its newest portfolio of vehicles, including the introduction of the extreme duty class, enhanced technologies and customizable vehicle accessories, Polaris continues to provide the most capable vehicles that fire and rescue personnel demand.

The RANGER CREW XD 1500, which launched in July 2023, is the strongest, most capable and most comfortable RANGER to date, providing fire and rescue personnel with even greater payload and off-road confidence. The RANGER CREW XD 1500 is powered by a three-cylinder ProStar 1500cc engine with 110 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque, has a 3,500 lb towing capacity and features a 1,500 lb box capacity – maximizing efficiency and enhancing response capabilities. An industry-leading 15 inches of ground clearance provides peace of mind when tackling large obstacles and tough terrain and an industry exclusive STEELDRIVE transmission features a 100% steel constructed belt that delivers smooth, precise operation and is fully sealed and liquid cooled for unmatched durability. Additionally, the RANGER XD 1500 comes in a three and six seat option to carry the full crew, and with 2 inches more leg room crews can get in and out of the vehicle easily and efficiently with protective equipment and gear.

RANGER CREW XP 1000 NorthStar

Designed for comfortable and efficient operations in all climates, the RANGER CREW XP 1000 NorthStar offers three and six-passenger options with a full cab and heat/AC for comfort and protection from the elements. A highly capable 2,500 lb towing capacity, a purpose-built ProStar engine and heavy-duty Pro Armor X-Terrain tires ensure crews can tackle the toughest jobs and terrain with certainty. Electric steering increases driving precision, and on-board RIDE COMMAND technology (standard feature on the Ultimate trim package) provides sophisticated off-road GPS navigation system for connected driving and vehicle telemetrics that keep the locations of fellow personnel easily available.

The RANGER XP Kinetic features an all-electric powertrain giving federal agencies an emissions-free vehicle that meets sustainability goals without sacrificing utility, performance or durability. With class-leading 110 horsepower, 140 lb-ft of torque and the ability to tow 2,500 lb and haul 1,250 lb, the RANGER XP Kinetic provides uncompromised power and precise control when pulling or towing heavy loads.

The RANGER XP Kinetic’s drivetrain features fewer moving parts for lower maintenance costs and more uptime for increased productivity. Plus, the quiet electric powertrain means easier radio and face-to-face conversations as well as greater situational awareness and less disturbance. The RANGER XP Kinetic also boasts a rigid one-piece chassis, full-body skid plate and large front bumper to deliver maximum protection to the operator and vehicle. Ground clearance of 14 inches, 10 inches of suspension travel and 29-inch Pro Armor X-Terrain tires further increase durability of the RANGER XP Kinetic to take on the toughest terrain.

Polaris Fire and Rescue UTVs

Polaris firefighting UTVs incorporate a professional system that is familiar, and fire skid packages incorporate a capable pump, hose and reel, tanks for water and foam and the ability to draft from an external water source. Rescue vehicles incorporate a rear attendant seat and a stokes rescue basket. A combination fire and rescue package is also available, which includes the fire tank and equipment as well as a compact stokes rescue basket. Polaris fire and rescue UTVs maintain the option for the rear equipment skids to be removed all together for additional applications or use by other departments. Custom graphics and body panels can be added so vehicles match the rest of the fleet. And these UTVs are compatible with traditional Polaris accessories options.
