A St. Louis ambulance was struck by pickup truck after that vehicle was fired upon by people in an SUV over the weekend.

The incident happened shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 15th Street and Cass Avenue, KDSK-TV reports. Shots were fired from an SUV, and the gunfire struck white Nissan pickup truck.

After the exchange, the pickup ran into the St. Louis ambulance. The SUV then sped off, and witnesses say two inside the pickup jumped out and fled on foot, while a female occupant stayed at the scene and talked to police.
