EMS Workers Injured in NY Ambulance Accident

A 2006 Lexus collided with a Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps unit on Long Island, sending the car's driver and three EMS workers to the hospital.

Three New York EMS workers were injured when their ambulance was involved in an accident with another vehicle Wednesday.

The incident happened at around 1:30 p.m. in Riverhead on Long Island, Riverhead Local reports. That's when a 2006 Lexus collided with a Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps unit.

Three ambulance corps members and the Lexus driver were injured in the accident. They were taken to the hospital, and their injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to police.

Riverhead police are investigating incident.
