EMS Workers, Civilian Hurt in SC Ambulance Rollover Crash

The Horry County Fire Rescue ambulance wasn't carrying any patients at the time of a two-vehicle accident in Myrtle Beach that sent three people to the hospital.

Two South Carolina EMS workers and a civilian were injured in a two-vehicle rollover accident involving an ambulance Monday.

The incident happened at about 12:15 p.m. in the area of Mr. Joe White Avenue and Robert M. Grissom Parkway in Myrtle Beach, Horry County Fire Rescue stated in an online update. A collision between a Horry County ambulance and another vehicle overturned the emergency unit, which was not carrying any patients at the time.

Two EMS workers were injured and taken to the hospital following the accident. A civilian in the other vehicle also was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

It's not clear if the ambulance was responding to or returning a call at the of the accident. Myrtle Beach police are investigating the incident.
