According to police, a Cincinnati Fire Department ambulance was struck by a car that appeared to have lost control on the slick roadway, killing the 27-year-old driver of that vehicle.

Two members of the Cincinnati Fire Department were injured Thursday in a crash between an ambulance and another vehicle that left one person dead.

The accident happened shortly before 7 p.m. along Central Parkway near Marshall Avenue, WLWT-TV reports. According to police, road conditions were slick, and the other vehicle spun out of control and struck the ambulance, which was returning from a call.

The two Cincinnati Fire Department personnel were the only people inside the ambulance at the time of the crash. They were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and their injuries weren't considered life-threatening.

Leron Davis, 27, was the driver of the other vehicle. Following the accident, he also was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

"It’s a pretty well-traveled road because you're looking at going into downtown up towards the Clifton area, so we get a lot of traffic in here we do get a significant amount of accidents in this area," Police Capt. Doug Snider told WLWT.

Police are currently investigating the incident.
