Palm Bay, FL, Fire Rescue Gets Blacked-Out Custom Pumper

Firefighters with Palm Bay, FL, Fire Rescue has taken delivery of a Sutphen heavy-duty custom pumper with a black-out package. It is built on a Sutphen 62-inch cab and chassis with a 10-inch half raised roof. It has seating for six in the cab and is powered by a Cummins ISL 9 450-hp engine and an Allison Gen 5 transmission. To fight fire, it has a Hale Qmax 1,500-gpm pump and a 750-gallon UPF tank. Other features include a low hose bed, rear fenderettes to black rubber, texture coated treadplate, Federal Signal warning and scene lights, Whelen DOT signals and a Federal Signal Q2B mechanical siren.
