Ramsey, NJ, Fire Department placed into service a KME mini pumper built on a Ford F550 cab and chassis. The apparatus is powered by a Power Stroke diesel engine and an automatic transmission. To fight fires, it has a 1,000-gallon Darley pump with a control panel behind a roll-up compartment door, and a 300-gallon water tank. Other features include a booster reel located above the pump, two preconnect crosslay hose beds and rear seats equipped with SCBAs. It also has a portable 9,000-pound portable winch with receivers in the front and rear, coffin-style compartments containing hard suction hose, pike poles and ground ladders.
