Four VA Firefighters Injured when Pumper Rolls on Slick Road
Four Virginia firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries when their pumper rolled over on a slippery road while responding to a medical call Sunday.
Henrico County Division of Fire's Engine 305 was en route to a call for an unconscious person when the incident happened.
The pumper spun on the road, left the roadway and overturned, according to a post on the department's Facebook page. The roadway was covered in snow and slippery.
The firefighters were able to self-extricate and were transported to the hospital.
Another unit responded to the original medical call.
Henrico Police is investigating the accident. Woodman Road at Spider Drive is closed for an extended time for the investigation and removal of the apparatus.
The initial medical emergency was handled by other units responding at the same time. There was no delay in service.
Road conditions are extreme slippery, and snow covered. Please stay off the roads and allow our roads to be cleared.
