Two VA Firefighters Injured in Apparatus Rollover Crash

A Mangohick firefighter was trapped after an apparatus went off the road and overturned into a steep ditch while responding to a non-emergency call in King William County.

Two Virginia firefighters were injured after their apparatus crashed into a ditch Wednesday.

Mangohick firefighters were responding to a non-emergency call just after 8:30 p.m. in King William County, WRIC-TV reports. That's when the rig they were in went off the road and rolled over into a steep ditch.

One firefighter was trapped inside the apparatus when rescue crews reached the scene, and a Medflight was called as a precaution. Two firefighters were taken to the hospital by ambulance, and their injuries weren't considered life-threatening.

"At this time, we are working with the King William Sheriff's office, King William Fire and EMS, and other entities to investigate," the department stated in an online update.
