Station Design Conference Breaks Attendance Record
The 2021 Station Design Conference attracted a record-breaking 450 attendees, which represents a 75 percent increase from the 2019 event. The conference brings together public safety officials, fire chiefs, police chiefs, project managers, architects and municipal managers who are actively involved in fire station and facility design.
“We are thrilled with the overwhelming support of the event this year despite the continuing effects of COVID-19,” says Bill MacRae, who is vice president and group publisher of Endeavor Business Media’s Firehouse Group. “The success of the event emphasizes the quality of speakers and content in providing fire and police officials with valuable information in designing and building effective new facilities.”
The conference was held at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark in St. Louis.

The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) is calling on all fire chiefs to advocate for the mandatory vaccination of all of their fire and EMS department personnel against the COVID-19 virus by an FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine, except for those who can’t be vaccinated because of qualified medical conditions or a sincerely held religious belief, practice or observance. Additionally, the IAFC recommends that fire chiefs collaborate with their occupational and public health partners to identify the most expeditious means for personnel to obtain the vaccination.

REV Fire Group’s first fully electric North American-style fire apparatus packs 316 kW of proven automotive-grade batteries to deliver the longest electric pumping duration in the industry, the company says. This enables departments to drive and pump on electric only. The vehicle was developed with technology partner Emergency One Group.
Available for delivery in 2022, the rig is completely customizable. It’s built utilizing locally stocked components, which makes replacement parts readily available. The apparatus is available for preorders now through any E-ONE, Ferrara, KME or Spartan ER dealer sales representative.
