Tyler Piechura graduated the Northwest Fire District Fire Academy close to nine months after his father, Northwest Fire District Chief Jeff Piechura, was killed in a plane crash while surveying the Cedar Basin Fire.
During the pinning ceremony, Tyler was pinned with a badge bearing his dad’s badge number.
Tyler is one of twelve members of recruit class 21-02 that recently completed their academy training.
