Ex-Eloy, AZ, Battalion Chief Sent to Prison for Child Pornography

During a raid at the former Eloy Fire District firefighter's house, authorities found more 5,000 photos of a nude teen.

A former battalion chief, who admitted to producing child pornography, has been sent to prison.

Ex-Eloy Fire District Battalion Chief Augustin "AJ" Sauceda was sentenced to 24 years and five months in prison, AZ Family reported, adding that once released, he will be on probation for the rest of his life.

“As a firefighter, this individual was entrusted with protecting and serving his community. Instead, he betrayed that trust in the most egregious way possible,” said Jason T. Stevens, special agent in charge for HSI Arizona.

During a raid at his Casa Grande home in 2024, authorities found 5,063 photos of a naked 14-year-old girl after seizing nearly two dozen electronic devices.

The sentencing was part of a plea deal.
