The Firefighters' 2027 Banana Ball Schedule Includes Field of Dreams, Dodger Stadium
The Firefighters’ 2027 baseball schedule has been released, and each year the organization expands its locations and increases potential ticket sales. In 2026, The Firefighters were looking at 852,857 potential tickets sold for the year, and this year that number has increased to 1,128,692.
The team will honor the fire service in places they have never been and return to ballparks that hold special meaning for them. The Firefighters will return to Nationals Park in Washington D.C. to headline a Major League Baseball (MLB) stadium against a team other than the Savannah Bananas for the first time in program history.
“That's going to be a real big test for our show to carry it by ourselves fully,” said head coach and retired firefighter Valerie Perez. “I'm really looking forward to the one at Nationals Park. That's going to be such a big testament to our brand, to our show and how big we've gotten.”
The Firefighters will play at venues such as Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, LA, the home of the Louisiana State University (LSU) football team, six MLB stadiums and other historic baseball sites.
With a sold-out crowd expected, Tiger Stadium will host the second-largest crowd The Firefighters will have played in. The team will also be playing at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, a venue that has been in the works for a few years. Finally, Perez and company will get to play at the Field of Dreams venue in Dyersville, IA, and the home of the College World Series in Omaha, NE.
A caveat about the schedule: When The Firefighters return to Yankee Stadium for the first time since Sept. 11, 2025, they're intentionally scheduled to play Friday and Saturday so they can travel to Cooperstown, NY, to be part of the National Baseball Hall of Fame ceremony.
During the Selection Show, a spectacle designed to announce all six teams’ schedules in the Banana Ball Championship League, the Hall of Fame president attended to announce that it is adding all six teams to its Banana Ball exhibit. Currently, the Hall of Fame showcases only the Savannah Bananas in the museum.
While The Firefighters’ schedule has no intentional fire service connections to the venues they play in, like playing in New York on Sept. 11 for the last two years, the team doesn’t lose sight of honoring the fire service.
“We'll continue to do our own stair climb and do that in our own way of honoring the fire service,” Perez said.
Each year, the Banana Ball organization and The Firefighters brand continue to grow and reach more people. After discussing the development, Perez noted that the organization does a great job of staying true to itself, and that’s what will keep the sport of Banana Ball growing.
“Staying within and building from what we have and what we know, we will keep trending up and avoid a plateau.”
