Dr. Richard Gasaway uses this month’s podcast to answer a listener’s question on dealing with a co-worker at a new fire station.
Gasaway begins with the advice that the listener avoid focusing on what the others are doing, but keep their focus on their responsibilities. That step will prevent the firefighter from falling into a negative rut.
Another idea is to talk with the fire officer to try and address the issue or that the listener could approach the co-worker and work to address the issues. Gasaway offers advice to the listener on how to best approach the co-worker, without being confrontational and trying to avoid any trouble.
Be sure to listen or download this podcast to hear Gasaway’s advice on ideas for a situation that most firefighter’s will encounter in their career, whether as a volunteer or career firefighter or fire officer.
