There hasn't been the wail of a siren or flashing lights on fire apparatus in Blasdell since November.
That's because the volunteer fire department hasn't run a call since November.
While there are only seven trained personnel, 10 prospective firefighters have completed physicals and await training, WGRZ reported.
Until that happens, volunteers from Bigtree, Woodlawn and Newton Abbott will be responding into the area.
The issue with a shortage of volunteers is occurring across the nation not just in New York.
