Nashville, TN, Firefighter Hurt by BB Gun During Horseplay at Fire Station
A Nashville firefighter was injured at a fire station while horsing around with a BB gun and a knife.
The unidentified firefighter suffered bruising around the eye and was released after treatment at a local hospital.
The two firefighters involved in the incident at Station 14 have been reassigned to non-emergency duties while an internal investigation continues, WKRN reported.
In a statement, fire officials wrote: “The Nashville Fire Department takes matters involving the safety and conduct of its personnel seriously and will follow established departmental policies and procedures throughout the investigative process.”
Metro Councilmember Jordan Huffman told the reporter: “I’m going to ask NFD leadership today… Why does this keep happening? It’s a pattern. It’s as simple as that. I mean, at the end of the day, this isn’t a high school locker room, Andy. This is a fire hall, and this is a taxpayer paid for fire hall, and for that to take place on company time, on Metro time, it’s completely unacceptable.”
