Ex-New Roads, LA, Firefighter, a Cop, Convicted of Raping Children
A former New Roads firefighter and police officer, convicted of raping several children, faces a mandatory sentence of life without parole and physical castration.
Some of the abuse that involved boys between 8 and 11 occurred in the New Roads fire stations where Kedreyon K. Williams, 31, volunteered.
Jurors deliberated for 39 minutes before returning its verdict, convicting Willaims of three counts of first-degree rape, indecent behavior with a juvenile, and possession of juvenile pornography, WAFB reported.
Chad Aguillard, who led the prosecution, said the verdict brings some closure for the children who testified during the trial.
“Those young men were traumatized. Those young men are brave, those young men are courageous, and they were able to look him in the eye and tell him what he did,” Aguillard said. “Obviously, the jury believed every word that they said and what I like to say is that this process is a healing process for them.”
The case came to light after one of the victims told his mother.
