Gear Stolen from Youngstown, OH, Fallen Firefighter Memorial

The helmet and air mask were discovered missing, and a hose had been cut, Youngstown Lt. Paul Lutton said.

Thieves made off with items from the Youngstown Fallen Firefighters Memorial.

A helmet and air mask were discovered missing and the fire hose had been cut Wednesday morning, WFMJ reported.

A staff member saw the gear, worth about $500, Tuesday night.

Youngstown Fire Lt. Paul Lutton said the equipment had been donated over the years for the display. 

Police are investigating.
