Animals OK after Barn Fires at Theme Ranch in Sevierville, TN
No animals or people were injured in a blaze that destroyed barns on SkyLand Ranch.
Firefighters could see the glow in the sky when they responded about 2:20 a.m., Sevierville Fire Chief Matt Henderson told WATE.
Sevierville police officers assisted in getting animals away from the area before firefighters arrived.
Getting water to the two barns was challenging due to location. A drone operated by police officers gave fire officers a bird's eye view of the operation.
Among the departments involved in the response were Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Waldens Creek, Seymour, and Northview along with the Tennessee Division of Forestry
The mountain coaster and chairlift at SkyLand Park were not compromised by the fire.
Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene throughout the day.
Set on a 100-acre farm, SkyLand Ranch provides both relaxation and fun. One of the most popular features is a scenic ride to the top of the mountain, according to the park's website.
