Brush Fire Threatened Six Flags Magic Mountain Roller Coasters in CA

Two roller coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia were shut down as firefighters contained the brush fire.

A small brush fire on the perimeter of Six Flags Magic Mountain forced the Valencia amusement park to briefly close two roller coasters.

A fire that broke out around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11 at Magic Mountain was extinguished within 20 minutes thanks to the rapid response of firefighters.

“The safety of our guests and team members remains one of our top priorities and we appreciate the swift response of local emergency services,” according to Six Flags officials.

The X2 and Viper roller coasters completed their cycles and were briefly closed out of an abundance of caution during the fire.

The park remained open during the fire. Both coasters have since reopened.

No one was injured and no structures were damaged.
