Multiple trailers filled with tires caught fire Tuesday afternoon at Pulaski Tire Service in Rosedale, drawing a response from Baltimore County firefighters and closing both directions of Route 40.

One firefighter was taken to a hospital, and no civilians were injured, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to the 7800 block of Pulaski Highway around 2:30 p.m. for a reported fire, according to the department. No buildings were involved, and the fire was out by 5:15 p.m.

She was getting ready to meet with a client when she first noticed the smell of burning rubber. Her client arrived and pulled her outside to see the fire down the street, frightening Adedapo.

“We didn’t know where it was coming from at first,” she said. “It’s calmed down now, but it really was bad. We could tell from inside.”

Adedapo said that, at its peak, the smoke cloud was huge and pitch-black
