Update: One Dead, One Missing after Industrial Plant Blast in Toledo, OH
Editor's Note: Family members told the media Tuesday morning that Mary Allen perished in the explosion.
A woman was killed and a co-worker remains missing following explosions at a Toledo industrial cleaning facility early Tuesday.
Firefighters found a woman's body inside the structure during a search. She was pronounced dead.
Toledo Fire Chief Allison Armstrong told WKYC early in the operation: "We're still actively searching because we do believe there are spaces in the building where survivors could be."
"Initially, they had explosions so we had to stay back a little bit, use our master streams like you see on the ladder truck. But also there was a water line that ruptured in the building that gave us really low water pressure. We had to tap a couple different hydrants, and we were having issues with that to get the water shut off."
Part of the structure collapsed during the two-alarm fire where crews continue to operate at the incident reported about 5 a.m.
