Woman's Body Found in Suitcase in Wichita, KS, Fire Station Parking Lot

Wichita police said Thursday that a woman’s body recovered at a city fire station had been stuffed into a suitcase.
The body and suitcase were taken to Wichita Fire Station 22, south of Pawnee on Hydraulic, by two men Wednesday. Police said they were still trying to determine the connection, if any, between the men and the woman.
Police said they believe the body to be a 67-year-old woman who had been reported missing., though they had not received confirmation of her identity Thursday afternoon. She was pronounced dead shortly after the incident was reported a little after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The case is being investigated as a homicide, police said.
Police said they did not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
