Three Dead, One Hurt in Troy, NY, House Fire
A Troy house fire that claimed the three lives and left another seriously injured remains under investigation.
Dominick Rizzo Jr., 37, and his fiancé Alicia Ruefle, 39, died Sunday night while their daughter, Abigail, 11, died Monday afternoon. Dominic Rizzo III, 13, remains hospitalized, WNYT reported.
Neighbors called 9-1-1 after seeing flames shooting from the house.
They forced entry through the front door, as soon as they forced entry, they were met with a flash of fire, rolling over their heads,” Fire Chief Richard Cellucci said.
“They initially located the first victim was the father, they located in a hallway and then several minutes later, located the daughter and the mother in a bedroom. They were able to extricate them in just about five minutes and thirty seconds, which is extraordinary.”
The couple's son, Dominic, escaped through a second-floor window.
