Fire Destroys Punxsutawney, Pa., Hotel

Dec. 11--PUNXSUTAWNEY -- A state police fire marshal has been called in to investigate a weekend fire that destroyed a Punxsutawney hotel and bar. The fire at the Hotel Punxsutawney and Smuggler's Inn in Jefferson County was reported Saturday just before 3 a.m., according to state police at Punxsutawney. The blaze destroyed the building at 108 N. Findley St., which was unoccupied at the time of the fire, police said. One firefighter was treated for a minor injury, police said.

The fire at the Hotel Punxsutawney and Smuggler's Inn in Jefferson County was reported Saturday just before 3 a.m., according to state police at Punxsutawney. The blaze destroyed the building at 108 N. Findley St., which was unoccupied at the time of the fire, police said.

One firefighter was treated for a minor injury, police said.

Police said the damage is estimated at $750,000.
