Fire Engulfs Anchorage Apartment Building

A three-story apartment building in Anchorage was engulfed in flames Thursday, injuring two occupants

Jan. 03--ANCHORAGE -- A three-story apartment building in Midtown is engulfed in flames this morningFire Engulfs Anchorage Apartment Building, says Anchorage Fire Department spokesman Al Tamagni. The fire, at 34th Avenue and Eureka Street, was reported at 8:40 a.m.

Tamagni, at the scene, said he is unaware of anyone being killed in the fire, but two people were taken to a hospital.

Firefighters are using a Seventh-day Adventist church less than a block away as a makeshift shelter.
