A house fire in Hinesville has claimed the lives of three people.
According to a report broadcast by local television station WTCO, at least 80 percent of the house was involved when fire crews made it to the scene on Gause Street. Firefighters tried to make entry, but were forced back due to the amount of fire that had compromised the structural integrity of the building, the station reported.
After a two-hour battle, firefighters were able to enter the home to find three deceased victims. Neighbors told the televisions station three elderly people, all relatives lived in the home, although officials had not released the identity of the victims.
Several agencies were called to the fight the fire, the cause of which is under investigation.
