Jul. 11--A large fire broke out at a multi-family home in Lynn early Thursday morning and displaced three families, according to multiple reports. The fire reportedly began just before 4 a.m. at a multi-family home on Birch Street in Lynn.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. Lynn Fire Chief Stephen Archer told WHDH that firefighters rescued two people, a man and woman, who were trapped on a small roof overhang in the rear of the home.
Fire crews reportedly used ladders to rescue the pair, who were then evaluated for possible smoke inhalation.
The Red Cross said a total of nine people were reported displaced. No serious injuries were reported as firefighters battled the heavy blaze throughout the morning.
